Mary McConnell

Mary McConnell was born Glasgow Scotland about 1829.

At the time of her marriage to James McKinlay on 6 Feb 1855 Blythwood her age is given as 26.

Mary was James third wife and they had a family of 9 children. (Her eldest daughter Mary McKinlay is Marks great grandmother).

After James death, Mary & her surviving 6 children lived Lanark Scotland until they boarded the ship 'Soukar' which brought them to a new life here in New Zealand.

Mary McKinlay died on the 5th May 1907 at the residence of her daughter Mrs H Paton, 59 Maitland Street Dunedin New Zealand. She was buried on the 9th May 1907 in the Southern Cemetery Dunedin, Plot 11P71.
